Usage procedure — what staff need to know
- Open the lid (quick-open tab). No final safety lock — the lid opens with a single finger movement.
- Remove the bottle from its holder, unscrew the cap. Hold the bottle over the exposed eye, directing the stream from the temple to the nose (away from the uninjured eye).
- Rinse with a continuous stream through the whole bottle (60-90 seconds for 500 ml). Open the eyelid with the helper hand or with the eyelids of another person.
- Use the mirror built into the lid to assess the eye condition — whether a foreign body is still visible, whether the conjunctiva is reddened, whether the pupil reacts to light.
- If the bottle runs out, use the second one and continue. Then proceed to a fixed eye-wash station (EN 15154-2) or to the ED.
