Polyethylene (film) shoe cover
Blue PE film with elastic band around the rim and 4 mounting hooks for the Easy Saver mechanism. Waterproof, higher capacity per roll. Default choice for facilities with high staff throughput.
Spunbond / SMS
Non-woven (spunbond) shoe cover
Non-woven cover with 4 hooks for the mechanism. More breathable than film, preferred in higher-temperature rooms (CSSD, autoclave area). Lower capacity per roll.
Refill choice by sector — operating theatre and ER triage default to PE (waterproof, larger pack). CSSD and autoclave areas more often to non-woven (breathability). For IVF, sterile compounding and cytostatic preparation — the choice depends on the materials regime set by the infection control nurse and the quality manager.
